Beat Those Post Vacation Blues

We’ve all been there. You just finished an amazing vacation, which is unfortunately now over, and you’re home, thrown back into reality and trying to fight those “I can’t believe it’s already over” feelings.

While it won’t bring your vacation back, here are five ways to ease that melancholy, before you head out of town:

  1. Do all the non-vacation laundry you can before you leave for your trip, so you aren’t trapped in double laundry hell. No one wants to wash, fold and put away 10 loads of laundry!
  2. While you may be busy eating anything perishable before you head out of town, think ahead and either buy a few essentials that won’t spoil or arrange for a grocery delivery/curbside pick-up for the day you’re back, so you’ll have milk for your coffee/cereal and eggs for breakfast in the morning.
  3. Even though you have those essential groceries, don’t immediately make yourself cook the night away when you get home. Keep the vacation bliss going for one more day and treat yourself to take out… or a dinner out!
  4. Schedule some self care – whether it’s a coffee date, spin class, happy hour, massage, you name it – for the upcoming week, so those post vacation blues don’t hit you so hard.
  5. The best way to end a vacation is to start planning your next one, whenever that may be 😉

While these tips won’t extend your trip, hopefully your adjustment back to reality of work/school/etc, won’t be as miserable, so you can relive the highlights of your vacation back at home!
