Do You Meditate?

You probably already know about the many benefits associated with a regular meditation practice – less stress, help tackling/eliminating depression and/or anxiety, improvement in health, better sleep and sex drive, the list goes on – but is it something you do daily?

For me, I had a few meditation apps that I’d use here and there and would regularly try mediation challenges from Oprah and Deepak Chopra, but wouldn’t always finish nor commit. Why? Mainly it was finding the time to dedicate to meditating….and making sure I wasn’t doing so before bed and falling asleep. I found myself thinking about it often, but didn’t follow through until I found Ziva Meditation.

I first learned about Ziva Mediation when I was on a call with the founder, Emily Fletcher. She was speaking to an awesome group I am part of called Rockstar Collective, which is run by the amazing Robyn Youkilis and Emily Nachazel. Hearing Emily talk about how her technique teaches you to combine mindfulness, meditation and manifesting intrigued me and I loved that it was self-guided, so I wouldn’t need any apps, timers, etc.

There is a pretty substantial price tag associated with Ziva, but I felt that this would make me even more accountable (plus some fellow Rockstars were doing it, so that was an added bonus). Plus, with a birthday coming up, I decided that it would be my gift, so I could dive in and make a full commitment to meditation as I entered a new year.

Yesterday, I completed the 15 day training and I have to say it has been incredible. I now feel I have found a technique that works with me and makes sense for my lifestyle. I look forward to my two, 15 minute (scheduled) meditations each day and taking that time to unwind, (try to) slow down and be present for myself.

Have I started seeing some results? Yes!

Definitely better sleep, more patience (but that’s still a work in progress with young kids, ha) and I can say that I’m starting to feel a bit less stressed. Totally stress-free? Nope, but I love that I now have a practice that is all mine and that I adapt to my needs and can take anywhere, without any “tools” needed.

If you’ve been wanting to start meditating but weren’t sure where to start or how to commit, I definitely recommend you checking out Ziva and can’t wait to hear what you think!
