Throughout this year, I’ve had many conversations with my daughter about the importance of kindness and having fun as she navigates life and learning in first grade. While there certainly have been some ups and downs, I’ve been proud to watch her learn how to speak up and understand right from wrong when dealing with friends and different scenarios.
With the school year starting to wind down, there’s no better time to reflect about the importance of our vibe as a young child and at any age. We all use our intuition to help us sort through new and even tricky situations but also read those vibes and understand those around us/ourselves better.
Is that person making me feel good?
Am I helping to fill someone else’s bucket?
What could I do better next time?
Asking simple questions like these can be so helpful for children, as friendships blossom and they find their tribe – their go-tos who can support and lift them up. Even if your vibe and tribe adapt and change over time, it’s amazing how universal and profound a message like that can be.
For me personally, I’ve learned how to trust my gut and seek out those opportunities where I feel supported but also realize when to step back when that support isn’t there. Over the past few years, my tribe has expanded and I’m couldn’t be more grateful to:
- The amazing women and men, who are part of my Facebook and Instagram communities and learn and experiment with me, as we collectively try to live cleaner, easier and safer
- My Beautycounter teammates, turned friends, who inspire and fuel my passion to educate and get better beauty and safer skincare products into the hands of everyone
- My like-minded Savvy Women’s Alliance Co-Chapter Ambassador and members, who are incredible and make our monthly gatherings so inspirational and eye-opening as we strive to lead more non-toxic lives
Thank you for being part of my tribe and remembering the importance of your vibe, as actions truly speak louder than words ❤
