Let’s Celebrate The Little Things

From end of school activities and meetings to demanding work and life schedules and never-ending asks, has anyone else felt like they’re struggling to stay afloat the past month?

With so much going on, it’s much easier to focus on what we were missing, messing up or possibly forgetting, rather than appreciating the moments and celebrating the little things along the way.

Which got me thinking about how often this mentality creeps in not just now, but anytime of the year and when you’re trying to live a non-toxic lifestyle.

As a society, we tend to strive for perfection when we really need to shift that focus and applaud our progress, whether big or small.

  • Did you forget your reusable bag the other day but rather than grabbing a plastic bag at the supermarket, did you carry your few items out?
  • Have you been bringing your own coffee mug to work but forgot that said mug when you went out for coffee yet refused the plastic straw?
  • Did you almost buy a bottle of water and instead passed because you knew you could wait…. but then unpacked your child’s bag to find a plastic water bottle in it?

So while the need to strive for perfection probably won’t ever go away, let’s all challenge ourselves to take a pause and be more mindful to celebrate the progress we are making everyday and along the way.

Because every bit counts and I know we are doing better together.
