Whether you’re hosting any of the holidays this season or traveling, no doubt you’re thinking about what to make, what to bring, what to gift, how to survive, etc., etc., etc.
We’re all in it together, so here are a few tips on how to do the holidays easier, cleaner and safer:
- Say No To Disposables! Sometimes we want to make things easier and that can involve single use serving items and utensils. Instead, embrace your everyday dishes, cutlery and glasses. It’s okay if they don’t match when you’re doing your part to help Mother Nature!
- Choose Better Alcohol – There are so many cleaner wines and spirits out there today, so vote with your dollar and drink safer. I love trying new wines every time I visit my local liquor stores 🙂
- Love Leaving with Leftovers? Plan ahead and pack a bag with your reusable glass or stainless steel containers, so you can ditch any plastic containers/bags and safely enjoy your items that night or in the coming days.
- Vote with your Dollar! When it comes to gifting, be thoughtful when putting together your own wish lists. Whether it’s supporting a B corp, opting for more natural fibers when shopping for clothes or saying no to more plastics, if you can’t buy secondhand, be sure you’re shopping responsibly this holiday season and show these companies we deserve safer and better.
- Finally, Try not to Stress – I know, I know, it’s easier said than done sometimes, but enjoy this quality time with family and friends. (Try to) Be mindful as you eat, drink, be merry and do all the things, so you don’t have (any) guilt afterwards.
Remember, it’s all about progress, not perfection, so stop worrying about what you should be doing and instead cherish the holiday season with your loved ones.
