Improving Your Home’s Air Quality with Plants

Aside from serving as beautiful decor, did you know certain house plants can help reduce your indoor air pollution?

From fragrance and flame retardants to air fresheners and other toxic chemicals, our indoor air quality may not be ideal, but simply bringing the right kind of house plant(s) into your home can make a big impact.

Unsure of where to start, especially if you don’t have the greenest thumb (it’s okay, you’re not alone in that respect!!)? My recommendation is to buy a snake plant.

Why?

The best part about snake plants is in addition to serving as an air filter, they require little TLC and are extremely resistant. You only need to water them when their soil is dry and they thrive with minimal light (think partial sunshine, so they can make photosynthesis). Plus, they can produce oxygen at night, so it’s even recommended to keep one in your bedroom.

I recently bought a snake plant for our living room and once I can prove to myself that it can stay alive, I’m going to invest in another for our bedroom 🙂

Little maintenance that can yield health benefits, too?! Win win in my book!
