Are your kids big fans of bath bombs?
They’re favorites in our house, but knowing that harmful, questionable ingredients may be lurking in some popular bath bombs (uh-hum Lush), we prefer to stay in control re: what they’re made of and make our own.
Are they pretty looking? Hell no (but we are getting better, ha)!
Are they a lot of fun to make? Yes!
While we haven’t invested in quality molds yet (it is on my daughter’s birthday list!), we’ve enjoyed following Wellness Mama’s bath bomb recipe, as it’s easy to do/adjust, plus it calls for many ingredients you may already have at home (you probably will need to buy some citric acid)!
We did make a few swaps to the recipe and they were a hit:
- Added some better food coloring from Whole Foods
- Opted for witch hazel instead of water
- Omitted the vanilla
- Added some doTerra Balance essential oil (probably mostly for me ;))
- Instead of molds, we used silicone muffin liners we had lying around that worked well
After allowing them to set for about a day and a half, we tested the bath bombs out and they were great!
Next time, my kids have requested for more food coloring for extra effect 🙂
