As the world continues to turn upside, seeing these amazing words from Rachel Cargle really spoke to me. As much as I love this growing Living Cleaner, Easier & Safer community and while I will continue to share what moves me, Rachel’s post reiterated how your actions really do and should transcend beyond any social media platforms.
It’s all about continuing to do the work – with your family and friends, at work, at home, at school, day in and day out – and showing up for what matters to you.
Thinking big picture is awesome, but let’s also not lose sight of the baby steps along the way that will help reshape our actions, reactions and emotions.
Awareness has been a big theme in our house, more so over the past several months – certainly starting by looking in, but also looking out to be more mindful of others – so I was very excited to read two new books with my kids, A Kids Book About Racism and A Kids Book About Empathy.
Perfect for kids and adults alike, I love how these books help us to look within and remind us of the importance of our behavior as well as our words. They’re an awesome way to start meaningful discussions, reiterating the consequences of our actions and pushing ourselves to do better.
This series covers so many other great topics that you too may have trouble deciding which to buy. I certainly did – ha – but started with these two, along with book about Mindfulness that I can’t wait to dig in further.
I know I’m look forward to continuing to read these books with my family, continuing to expand our views and continuing our work, day in and day out.
