Do you drink green tea?
Whether you’re reaching for hot or iced green tea, consuming this super beverage on a regular basis has been linked to living a long, healthy life. Why?
Tea, according to Dr. Mark Hyman, “contains potent phenolic compounds that fight cancer and protect our cardiovascular system. Green tea is in a class by itself, as it contains some of the most powerful disease-fighting phytonutrients found in the plant kingdom.”
It’s also good for your gut health and we know how important your gut microbiomes are – yes!
Beneficial for your brain – yes!
And a good impact on your good cholesterol – yes!
Clearly the benefits of consuming green tea can be profound and relatively inexpensive, as you can find quality, organic green teas in most stores and websites – be sure to look for paper bags or choose loose tea to minimize/eliminate your plastic usage and microplastic exposures.
I personally love starting my day with a cup of coffee, so I have been trying to incorporate a cup or two of green tea into my afternoon routine, when I tend to have that mid-afternoon slump.
Nothing like a boost of caffeine and health benefits to finish off your day!
