Chances are your shopping habits, priorities and/or wardrobes have had some big changes since March 2020.
Perhaps you’ve realized you have so much in your closet that it’s time to get strategic, pare down and do more with less.
Or, you’ve realized you need to invest more versatile, quality pieces with a return to work or as the seasons change.
Before rushing out to the store (don’t get me wrong, I’m all for shopping and supporting (small) businesses!), consider shopping secondhand. It may seem intimidating at first, but it’s incredible what you can find, all while bettering the environment, your wallet and closet!
With sites like thredUP and The RealReal (and more), it’s amazing to see their expansive brand ranges – which include so many name-brand and authenticated designer like-new or new offerings – and shop for less. Facebook marketplace can also be a great option that will help eliminate or minimize shipping costs for clothing, furniture and more!
Depending on where you shop, keep in mind these tips to maximize your shopping experience and minimize surprises down the road:
- Be sure to read the item’s description, especially when it comes to condition, so you have level expectations
- Check the seller’s return policies and/or reviews – so important!!
- Create alerts and lists for the brands you like and sizes needed, so you can shop strategically
- Check often for sales, offers and new items being added!
Happy shopping and even selling, too, on those same sites!
