Do you have a spring cleaning plan?
While I don’t per se, I decided this year to start with my washing machine, especially because it sat in storage for a year during our construction.
I absolutely love my Speed Queen washer, so I consulted their website to ensure I was properly sanitizing and thankfully it was as simple as I’d hope it would be!
All you need is three things – vinegar, baking soda and a rag/sponge.
For my top loader, I set it to the largest, hottest setting and added four cups of vinegar and one cup of baking soda once it filled up with water.

Then, I let it run the whole cycle and once it was finished, I wiped down the inside and that was it – so easy, cheap and non-toxic!
While I think this combo would work for any machine, I’d recommend a quick Google search beforehand to ensure it’s right for your washer.
Happy spring cleaning!
