Have you ever heard of the yoga pose, legs up the wall?
Do you ever practice it beyond yoga class?
This pose is such a great, unwinding exercise to do at home, particularly for a few minutes before bed, because of its many benefits.
First, it’s a relaxing way to de-stress, calming your body after an active day.
It helps to improve circulation and lymphatic flow, especially if you find yourself sitting for long portions throughout the day.
This pose is also great for soothing tired feet, legs and muscles, as well as backaches.
Sometimes I do this on my bed, couch or the floor and aim to do this nightly before bed. Many times I enjoy doing it while listening to my Zenimal – yup, I’ve (temporarily) reclaimed this meditation turtle from my kids ha – for a few minutes.
Yes, I definitely forget or skip it some nights, but I truly feel like it helps me to unwind, relax and sleep better when I incorporate this practice regularly into my nighttime routine.
And like many things, doing it sometimes is better than never.
