If you’re like me, you, too, may find a product you like with better ingredients and buy said product often.
One example of this was Trader Joe’s organic chicken broth for me – clean, organic ingredients, good flavor and price, so I’d keep my pantry stocked with this broth for soups, pastas, etc!
But, when you find a product you like, you may not feel the need to and/or possibly forget to check the ingredient label often for any possible changes, right? I realized this (once again) late last month, when I went to make Israeli couscous with my Trader Joe’s broth – I turned over the packaging and realized the ingredient label had changed!?
For the better? IMO, NO!
Less whole, real food ingredients and less flavor!
I realize for some people, this may not be a deal breaker, but for me, it was. More concentrates, higher portion of inflammatory canola oil in the ingredient makeup and more natural flavors. So less, whole foods plus watered down flavor. GRRRR! While this was annoying, it definitely can be common practice for brands, as they look to stretch their bottom lines and deliver the same and/or similar products.
So, I decided to try Bonafide Provision’s organic chicken broth and it’s awesome – more expensive, yes, but it delivers in amazing flavor and organic ingredients, without any natural flavors, concentrates and oils, so I’m willing to spend more.

Last week, Bonafide Provisions broths happened to be on sale at Whole Foods, so I stocked up. Everything is more expensive, so this is when shopping strategically and smarter matters more than ever and I’ll be sure to restock during the next sale, too.
Let’s vote with our wallets and remember to turn over those products regularly and read those labels!!!
