How Many Personal Care Products Do You Use Daily?

My shelfie 😉

Have you ever stopped to think about how many personal care products you use daily?

The average woman uses 13 products and men use 12 on average, the latter of which has almost doubled since 2004 (unfortunately I don’t know teen/tween numbers and may not want to ;)).

Yesterday, I tracked my own daily routine, from day to night), and I used 25 products. Yup, 25, and it was a hair washing day, ha!

From facial cleansers, body soap and shampoo to serums, makeup and deodorant, my tally added up very, very quickly – imagine all those ingredients?!

And, yes, that number kind of surprised me, as I consider myself relatively low maintenance.

Every product we put on our face and body daily means that it’s being absorbed into our largest organ, our skin, and then our bloodstream.

Talk about another reason why it’s so important to pay attention to the ingredients in your products, right?!

In the largely unregulated beauty industry, it’s up to us to scrutinize what’s in our products, vote with our wallets and demand better while we wait for safer laws to be passed.

I fell in love with Beautycounter’s clean beauty products many years ago, not only because they’re safer – thankfully our Never List ensures 2,800+ questionable or harmful chemicals are never used in our products – but also because they’re high performing! Plus, our amazing advocacy efforts that help drive change within this majorly f’ed up industry and on a national level, too.

This month marks Beautycounter’s 11th anniversary – 11 years of our mission of getting safer products into the hands of everyone and we’re just getting started!

I’m so grateful for this opportunity to share these products with you and beyond grateful for your support over the years. I know, together, we are making a difference and helping each other feel and look our best by switching to safer products that work XO
