Happy Earth Day!

We drive the change we wish to see in the world, so let’s use this Earth Day to focus on small changes that we can do and continue to make a difference every day! Here are some easy ideas we can commit to together 🙂

• Are you an iced coffee or tea drinker? With temps rising, say no to a plastic straw and invest in your own reusable glass or stainless steel straw! Bonus: bring your reusable cup, too!
• I’m sure you may have a drawer full of water bottles, right? Keep a glass or stainless steel bottle filled with water in your car, so you’re never without it while on-the-go and can resist the urge to buy bottled water, aka more plastic!
• Running out of sandwich bags? Invest in reusable alternatives like Stasher bags or make the switch to paper bags!
• Love coffee and tea at work? If you haven’t already, bring that mug to keep at work and finally ditch the disposable cups! Take it one step further and bring a water bottle, set of utensils, bowl and plate to keep at work, so you’re set up for success for all drinks and meals – Ikea is a better, affordable store to shop for these items.
• We all love a nice shower, but shorter showers are just as good and if you need to shave, give your faucet a break – turn off the water and then turn it back on when you’re done shaving!
• We all want to get those steps in, so walk or bike as often as you can instead of driving. Or take those steps, instead of the elevator! Sure, this could take longer, but our planet and your health will reap the benefits!
• Make this the year you finally compost – I promise it’s easy and you’ll be amazed at how quickly your food scraps add up! Check with your town or county’s utilities to see what composters they may have for sale.
• Vote with your dollar and shop smarter by supporting better companies that align with your eco-friendly and sustainable beliefs – B corps and their commitment to people, the planet and profit, are a great list to start with!
