If you’re feeling exhausted, running from one thing to another and/or all the feels as June progresses and we welcome in summer, you’re not alone. Sure, we’d all love to truly stop what we’re doing when we feel overwhelmed and take a rest, but lord knows how unrealistic that may be to do.
So instead, let’s all come back to these beautiful words from Nicola Jane Hobbs and savior these small actions that can have big benefits when we need a quick rest:
- Lie on the ground for one minute (this is a personal favorite of mine!)
- Wash dishes to your favorite music.
- Turn your face towards the sun and soak up the rays.
- Feel the ground beneath your feet.
- Touch something alive – a loved one, a tree, your breath, your heart.
- Speak one sentence of compassion.
- Stretch your arms overhead.
- Smile softly.
Love what a great, immediate response these actions can have to reset our nervous system and get us moving and motivated. Here’s hoping we can incorporate these moments into our busy days to help us until we can truly rest <3.
