To Recycle or Toss Holiday Wrapping?

While recycling rules definitely vary by whatever town or city you may live in, I came across this helpful image from @recyclerightny that I had to share, as it’s a great jumping off point when it comes to your holiday wrapping essentials.

When opening gifts, I know after putting aside what we can use again next year, we may want to automatically recycle all the paper – wrapping paper, tissue paper, ribbons and paper boxes. But don’t just yet! First, do your homework to double check with your DPW as to what can be recycled vs. composted vs. simply thrown away. Bonus points for remembering what can’t be composted or recycled to perhaps shop differently and more intentionally next year 🙂

I realize there’s a lot to do and keep track of during the holiday season, but let’s all do our part to reuse as much as we can and celebrate as sustainably as possible. Happy Holidays!
