The Importance of Community

Part of the obé fitness community from our Retreat

Last year, I joined obé fitness, an incredible online fitness experience, that has transformed my workouts and for the first time ever made me actually excited to exercise. Aside from the amazing classes and instructors, there is something so uniquely awesome that distinguishes obé from any other online platform and it’s the obé community.

The community connects via a private Facebook group, where members, as well as instructors and even the obé founders, encourage, support and cheer each other on, and this past weekend, we had the opportunity to meet IRL for the first-ever obé retreat in NYC.

Was it a bit intimating since it could be out of most people’s comfort zones – including my own – to attend a retreat solo? YES!

But was it an unbelievably powerful experience? HELL YES!

Although most of us hadn’t met in person before, the strength and power of this community was so evident throughout the weekend – from members, instructors and obé staff welcoming everyone with open arms and challenging ourselves with workouts to pampering, partying, non-stop laughter and celebrating the power, acceptance and love within this online community.

This entire retreat reinforced the importance of creating space for yourself and what matters to you, especially in such a chaotic time like right now.

Sometimes social media can get a bad rap, but when you can find an outlet like obé and this FB community that drives people together, rather than apart, it is amazing and truly life-changing. I’m so grateful to have found and to be part of obé, as it reminds me of how I feel about this Living Cleaner, Easier & Safer community, too ❤
