I was scrolling Instagram this weekend (yup, I know I’m not alone there) and this quote from Functional Medicine Dr. Will Cole jumped out at me like a PSA.
Over the past few weeks, how many times have you thoroughly enjoyed and (even) overindulged on some of your favorite (junk) foods – I’m looking at you, chips – but afterwards felt guilty?
Let’s be real, we’ve all been there and I’m sure we can all agree that this time at home has tested us in many ways. It is affecting almost all areas of our lives, including our eating.
This is definitely not the time to strive for perfection, as those highs are highs and lows can be very low, and sometimes that junk food is exactly what you needed at that exact time. Instead, keep focusing on your health and wellness but when you stray from your usual eating habits and enjoy some junk food, acknowledge that it’s okay!
Sometimes we all just need to be reminded that s**t happens – we are human after all – and the best thing to do is learn from it and then drop it.
Your body and mind will benefit from this the most versus stressing out over it!
