Less Do and More Be This Summer

Unplugging for a week in Cape Cod with my family and friends was amazing – last week was the perfect reset we needed after the end of school and start of summer craziness and allowed us to just be.

Sure, there were lots of things we wanted to do during our time in our favorite summer place, but the week also served as a perfect reminder that just being away together was enough.

Obviously being at the beach and coming to this realization made it easier to process and embrace than the reality of work and life at home, but I’m using this reminder – less do, more be – as a goal for the rest of the summer.

While there will still be a lot of things we want to do this summer, who else is in for a push to (try to) focus more on the be?!

  • Being present and prioritizing the people and things that bring us joy.
  • Being open to doing more unexpected things vs overscheduling and planning it all.
  • Being more mindful and intentional in slowing down to listen more to the wants vs the shoulds.
  • Being extra grateful for what we have – our family, friends and health – and making it a summer full of possibilities and fun.

So, here’s to soaking up the rest of July and all of August and focusing on less doing and more being _____ (insert your own adjective(s) here) ❤️
