Hope everyone is having a great Earth Week and it’s been a lot of fun discussing simple swaps we can do to help the planet. Next up, let’s talk about going out to eat. How great is it to have a break from cooking?! And what’s better than having leftovers you can enjoy the next day?
So, the next time you go out to eat, let’s challenge ourselves to pack a reusable – ideally glass – dish. That way, you can say no to the restaurant’s to-go containers, which may be plastic or perhaps something lined with plastic, and by using your own, you can easily bring those leftovers to work for lunch the next day or reheat them at home. Yes, you may feel a bit embarrassed initially, but I promise you, it’s worth it and that feeling fades over time (though I still remember doing this for the first time like 20 years ago, hahaha)!
Last night, I went to dinner with one of my best friends and I couldn’t have been happier nor more proud that we both brought our own glass dishes! After a delicious dinner, having our own containers made it so easy to safely pack up our leftovers – and it simply involved a few seconds of planning to remember to bring them along 🙂

Do you think you can do this the next time you go out to eat? Please report back and I promise you, it gets less “weird” each time you do it – every bit counts and Mother Earth will thank you XO
